I am playing some tunes at Super Deluxe tonight at the kind invitation of Survivart , a collective of young arts organisers and artists who have been organising a series of informal talks with arts professionals in Tokyo on topics of art, money and survival. I think a number of them are students who came together to try to ask questions about the art situation in Japan and create spaces for discussion. I think what they are doing is good. Tonight's event is called 'Waki Ai Ai', and will include a talk session with Yuko Hasegawa of Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo and Atelier Bow Wow architect Tsukamoto Yoshiharu and an exhibition of young artists works. I am on from around 10pm for 45 minutes or so and plan to play some sad post-rock type things, moving into prog rock from Italy and Thailand, moving into Can and Latin New Wave and finally moving into some synth disco classics.
